The Energy Science Center (ESC), competence center of of ETH Zurich for energy research and education, for the sixth time held its annual energy conference, the “Energy Week @ ETH”. The event series took place from Monday to Sunday, 5-11 December 2022 at ETH Zurich and online, and offered a wide range of activities: a symposium, an energy sprint, focus dialogues and a science policy panel.
For the first time, the Energy Week @ ETH was accompanied by a public energy exhibition. During the whole week, guests had the opportunity to visit the exhibition in the main hall of ETH Zurich. They could find out about Switzerland’s current and future energy system, understand the many challenges and opportunities, and learn what a possible 2050 energy scenario might look like.
Highlights of the exhibition: a walk-through energy “playing field”, examples from current energy research and the opportunity to literally take a look into the energy future using augmented reality.
Moreover, during guided tours of the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to ask their questions directly, accompanied by energy experts from ETH Zurich.
